Watercolour paintings

I hope you had a good summer.
In June I visited my 99 year old mother in the UK, for two and a half weeks.  I spent some of this time in quarantine, but it was worth all the tests and confinement to see her after 18 months.

After I returned home to Monchique, I had to get to work with the much needed re-painting of the exterior of my house…

Now completed.  Just the inside to decorate now!

But stop there! I needed to do some real painting!  The enjoyable kind.  So, I decided to work on a few watercolour paintings.  Some of which are on sale at Monchique’s Casa Amarela shop.
Since then, I’ve made new page on my website for watercolours and I hope you will visit it: https://liz-allen.com/watercolour-paintings

Some other paintings which have recently found new homes recently – two in Germany and two in Madeira: watercolour of Chilrao landscape, Tall trees at Barranco do Pisoes, Smoky November day, Monchique, and Hanging palms and clouds at Caldas de Monchique (below).

If you don’t know the Monchique area, this is the kind of landscape which inspires my paintings…

This morning there was heavy mist and cloud hanging over the peak of Foia, as well as over me when I took the dog for his walk.

Meanwhile, my studio is open by appointment, please email me or phone (+ 351) 934170523 to arrange.

Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.
