This is a series which is developing….they have been a long time in the making! The first abstract, below, is the result of not trying to make it into anything in particular, and not having any expectations. I worked on it over a long period of time, many months, on and off, usually to use up left over paint after a session. Towards the end, I worked on it a bit more intentionally and started to like it! Then I tidied up and couldn’t find it. Then, when I had to reorganise a cupboard, I found it again.
I made the bird stencils for another painting (which I haven’t finalised), and they found their way into this painting. It doesn’t have any other basis, or reference to reality. I’m working on a couple more in larger sizes, and I’m using my bird stencils again.
